The 3 stage plan revisited
Almost 2 years back I wrote down the 3 stage plan I had for Estate Baron. It is loosely modelled on the plan Elon Musk has for Tesla.
Start with what the vision is and then work backwards to determine the key steps needed to achieve it. The 3 step plan looked like this
- Build a niche property crowdfunding platform focused on Property developments. This generates us upfront cash flow.
- Use the money and systems built as part of it to develop a mass market fractional property platform that allows people to crowdfund their homes.
- Use the money and systems built as part of the mass market fractional property platform to develop a real estate backed global currency
I am glad to report that the plan is working out and we are well on our way to step 2. Estate Baron now has a fairly repeatable scalable model which is being used by Property developers all across Australia to crowdfund their property developments. It has generated cash flow for us and also opened doors for us.
We got selected as part of the Charter Hall Prop tech accelerator program run by Collective Campus. We got a bit lucky when the team at Collective Campus (CC) proposed a partnership to bring the Blockchain enabled fractional property platform to market. Personally I thought going to step 2 would take a few more years while we grow and scale step 1. But the rise of Blockchain and the marketing heft that the team at CC brings in means that we are able to bring the step 2 to life faster.
Konkrete.io is now live and I will encourage everyone who cares about making the housing market a bit more fairer and achievable to everyone to check out our whitepaper.
The interesting thing is due to the way Blockchain is now embedded in the whole thing, step 3 goes almost hand in hand in with step 2. Which means that the overall long term vision is likely to be achieved sooner than expected.
